Takina, the new convention and exhibition centre directly opposite Te Papa, provided NZ Fire Show attendees with new products, thinking and displays in the heart of New Zealand’s capital city.
The purpose-built venue combines two plenary halls of conference space, with a public gallery – which was where Pertronic Industries’ booth was prominently located. Takina means to invoke, to summon, to connect, to bring forth in te reo Maori.
Auckland regional manager Darryl Ingham carried out most of the show’s heavy lifting in arranging transport of a purpose-built stand from Auckland, and setting up a variety of panels and detectors displaying Pertronic’s comprehensive fire detection and protection systems.
Across three days (Wed 23 Oct – Friday 25 Oct), fire consultants and engineers, fire system installers and the general public were exposed to a wide range of products to protect people and to prevent and mitigate fires.
On the Wednesday and Thursday almost half Pertronic’s Wingate personnel took the opportunity to investigate the Fire Show for themselves. Early on Wednesday morning, delegates who were interested in Pertronic’s manufacturing expertise were given a tour of our production plant.
Pertronic was also able to host Australian Honeywell Building Automation Fire Distribution Leader – Pacific, Philip Bush, as part of the Gala Dinner held at Te Papa on Thursday evening.
As a fire industry leader in New Zealand, the Fire Show is an opportunity to showcase new products, learn about challenges that contractor/installers may be experiencing, and give back to an ever-changing industry.
Pertronic managing director David Percy says the ever-improving range of products on display at the Fire Show is a very practical means of demonstrating why ongoing and relentless research and development is at the core of a 42 year old business.
